“There is no escape from me, not even in death.”-  Conn Iggulden

Flumpty Bumpty, Your eternal captor from One Night at Flumpys.

The Entity, The emotional feeding death-looping god from Dead By Daylight.

Humanity has always been afraid of death, for it is always inevitable. However there are some stories where death is a blessing, where living is nothing but pain and suffering that we desperately scream to come to an end. These two metafictional monsters bring this problem and then some, capturing you and tormenting you in their eternal games. Will the plot immune egg leave the Entity dead by the day's light, or will the celestial of torment leave Flumpty eternally scrambled. Come down to Fenic's Fighting Blogs to find out.

Before We Go Anywhere…

To start, we think it's important to mention that we are aware that the creator of Flumpty Bumpty, Jonochrome, has been involved in a horrible controversy for the past few years. For the sake of this blog, we will be attempting to separate art from the artist and focus entirely on the Flumpty franchise itself, however, Jonochromes commentary is ultimately very important to Flumpty's overall story, so it’s something we can’t ignore for a blog. If you are uncomfortable with this it’s completely understandable, you may stop reading this blog and we apologise for the inconvenience. Otherwise, we will keep the mentions of the drama to a minimum and focus on Flumpty from here on out.

As for what media will be used? Flumpty Bumpty’s canonicity is incredibly hard to define, the creator of the series (Jonochrome) doesn’t particularly care about what happens apart from a couple key aspects. We’ll be looking at the original trilogy of games, Jonochromes own commentary on the games, the comics and OWAF mini-series, the Q-and A, any other drawings or word of god statements. You might think this is generous, and it is, but the canon is so messed up that you cannot ignore things. The Entity is kinda a similar mess. Obviously we will use the main Dbd game and all its lore, plus the casting of Frank Stone since that's pretty blatantly part of the Dbd universe. We also will be including the official lore streams and Qnas since their entire purpose is to explain the lore in further detail. There is also the whole deal with licensed killers and potential crossover scaling to other franchises, but the specifics and validity of this will be detailed much later. Also just as a side note, since Dbd is still updating game stuff from this blog will definitely age. I will try to update it if anything major is revealed but you have been warned.

In terms of credit, calcs and information will be taken from The Knight vs Apollyon blog by Bang. Near the end of this blog Rick vs Joel vs Bill came out and had some new dbd info and calcs we used to patch up a few places. Some information has also been taken from Bangs Sadako vs Slenderman blog although in very brief instances. Bang is kinda hard carrying a lot of info on this lol, big shout out to him.

Flumpty also has a mini-respect thread that may be used for links and images, but we did all the research.

Also, all of Flumpty’s clone abilities will be mentioned in his ability section given the fact they’re the same. Another thing to note is that, there is a lot of specific stuff in dbd like individual items and perks aren't gonna be fully covered, this is besides they really don't matter in the face of cosmic forces and would just be very unnecessary information.

Why this Matchup?

Originally me and Saul wanted to just do a Flumpty blog because properly scaling the insanity of his character sounded like just a dumb fun idea for a duo blog. Of all the choices, I picked the Entity because I had been wanting to get into Dead by Daylight for a while now and saw it as a unique combatant to scale as well. However, as the blog progressed I kinda unironically became a fan of this MU. The thematics, dynamic, and story potential are very strange at first, yet surprisingly good with further research. The MU managages to lean into the humor and cosmic horror of both in a way that I find personally endearing. Now this blog is not intending to sell the MU, in fact I severely doubt anyone but me really is ever going to consider it a genuine matchup, let alone a good one. But regardless, I hope you enjoy this passion project Me, Saul, and much later Coach Boomer put a ton of effort into. Also, hello! Stakik here! Chris and I joined this blog late (mostly for art stuff on Chris’ end), but working on it has been a joy, and a joy I hope you all share. On my end researching for this blog after waiting for it to release felt like the funniest monkey’s paw ever, and I'm proud of what we’ve done here

Background

Flumpty Bumpty

(Preview card by Hattyhatman)

“Hi! I'm Flumpty Bumpty. I'm an egg. I'm immune to the plot, and can transcend time and space. Also, I'm coming after you. You can figure out the rest. Have fun!”

What are cartoon characters? No really, think about it, most defy traditional physics, most can stretch and warp their bodies in any way with no damage, most can pull objects out of thin air. Cartoons break the very laws we rely on, they’re gods, at least, this was the thought process behind explaining Flumpty Bumpty. A supposed God of Death, transcendent over time, space and the story.

Nobody really knows exactly what, where or when Flumpty came from, but if one thing was clear, he was complete nonsense from the start. He buried Birthday Boy Blam and his evil future clone Kevin Jr. while they were unconscious, summoning a shovel out of nowhere, and since then he’s been the primary star of One Night At Flumpty’s — with one simple goal: to trap people inside his Spooky Funhouse and play a game of “Survival Hide-And-Seek”. If he wins, he eats your eyes and brings you back as another monster of his. If you win, you become his best friend! And you’re free to go. But good luck trying, whether against his nightmarish friends, or the egg “alone”, never underestimate Flumpty, hell, that’s what he thinks of you, never eat eggs near him either. Whatever you do, try your best to last until 6…

Because we have many, many, more nights to go through just one!

LEAVE

Fine, best of luck to my opponent though, this’ll be so fun

Ughhhhhhhhhhh…

The Entity

(Preview card by Hattyhatman)

“This thing, that I dubbed The Entity, is evil in its purest form. I find it hard to spot, but I can hear the cracking sound this loathsome thing emanates. Like a deity, it surrounds the area, closing in on me as its Killers hunt me.”

Don’t we all fear the end of the world. The idea that everything we love and care for will just, suddenly end. That feeling of insignificance we have, that we are so small and meaningless in the face of greater powers. The world of Dead by Daylight is very similar to our own, except they have a very good reason to fear. Within the cracks of reality and the cosmos lies a being of pure evil, one that won't stop until it's corrupted and consumes everything in existence. You can pray to any god you want, but only one will arrive, for The Entity is always hungry.

The Entity’s origins are mysterious if not impossible for a mortal to understand. It speaks language and whispers far above us. Even the most intelligent go mad when faced with such a power. As this god travels realm by realm, it snatches both the innocent and vile. The Entity wants emotions to feed off, and so it has a game to play. Using the memories of others it crafts entire realms of its own to host a challenge. These trials as they are called have killers hunting down survivors as they try to escape. The Survivors need to power up generators and reach the exits, while the killers need to make sacrifices to the entity for its approval. However, no matter who wins it always ends up the same, everyone wakes up right back at the campfire to start again. It's a time loop, a game that is played over and over until you are completely drained. But even then the horrors don't stop, for in this world, there truly is no escape.

Experience

Flumpty Bumpty

Flumpty’s been around for an incredibly long time, not only being there for Birthday Boy Blam’s first birthday but also being “Always there” and existing before time itself was made, he’s a literal embodiment of the egg coming before the chicken, that chicken being time. He has no origin either so it’s hard to pin down exactly what he even is in a sense. ONAF1’s Hard Boiled Mode phone calls clue us in on his being a “Chaos God Of Death”, but all we know for sure is that from then to now (which is 2015-maybe 2021), Flumpty’s not only formed his “Survival Hide and Seek” game, but also killed at least 20 other people and caused the apocalypse. You could also say that since he’s stated to know everything only besides why he exists that he’s a pretty experienced egg in all forms which is a simpler explanation. He isn’t the smartest egg around even with all of that knowledge but when you’re immune to the plot and can transcend time and space, do you have to be?

The Entity

10 Incredible Dead by Daylight References in The Casting of Frank Stone

The Entity origins is one of the biggest mysteries in all of Dead by Daylight. It’s been documented by many people, including the scholar known as the Observer, who says some very interesting things. For one, it's really old, even more so than you might think. The Observer refers to it as an “Original one” or ancient. He also believes it to be a Celestial of some kind. Regardless of its origins the Entity is insanely experienced. We know it's consumed many worlds already, with no sign of stopping until everything is gone. Trying to even understand the Entity has driven many to insanity, the Observer even calls it as deep, complex, and mysterious as a black hole. Even the great and experienced Vecna lacked an understanding over the Entity despite him mastering all forms of magic. The Entity also has its own language that nobody has managed to decipher.

In terms of intelligence, the Entity is a super genius. It's a master of manipulation, creating constant and very complex illusions to get what it wants out of both survivors and killers. Plus while the Entity is a walking apocalypse, it doesn’t just mindlessly consume, it's actually pretty specific in how it operates. The Entity targets worlds of darkness and chaos, which the Observer believes is because the people's sheer ignorance actually helps the Entity. The Entity is also very picky about who it takes, with its actions being referred to as almost an art form of some kind. The Entity is essentially a perfectionist with all of its actions. It's also capable of sensing the evil inside of people, which it uses to choose appropriate killers for its many trials. It has even made deals with killers and sometimes has tortured them into submission. In terms of personality, the Entity has shown itself to be quite cruel, it regularly keeps people alive for its own enjoyment, playing cat and mouse games with them and testing and beckoning them despite their anguish. It also directly challenged and mocked the Observer in a way that just screams ego.

Equipment

Flumpty Bumpty

Gun

For his neutral special…

Shovel

A trusty shovel for burying things, which Flumpty has plenty of experience doing.

Buster Sword

He definitely scales to Final Fantasy now fr.

Space Car

Flumpty owns a car with an engine so strong it can go to space……somehow?

Meteor

What If A Meteor Hits The Earth At The Speed Of Light? - YouTube

Flumpty apparently “Killed a hundred billion birds with one stone”, which was actually just him ending the world with a meteorite.

The Entity

Limbs

Dead by Daylight: What is The Entity?

The closest we ever see the Entity’s “true form” is through its limbs. These spider-like appendages can be spawned wherever in the Entities realm, often to mess with the survivors in some way. They can block entrances, generators, and worse of all be used to stab and kill the survivors outright once they are sacrificed. On a few occasions, the Entity has also made use of vines for a similar purpose.

Pallets

Old pallet design is better than the new one : r/deadbydaylight

The Entity creates all of the pallets in the trials as a way for the survivors to temporarily fight back against the killers.

Hooks

Hooks - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki

A core part of the Entity’s trails are the Hooks. These stations are where killers place any survivors they capture to be sacrificed to the Entity.

The Items

The Entity has made a lot of items to make its trials a lot more interesting. It didn't actually create all the items though, since the survivors' items were actually the result of Vigo harnessing the fog for himself to help others out. However since he did this with the Entity’s own power we should realistically be able to give it access to all of them. Here is a full list of the item categories. Most of them are pretty self explanatory.

  • Flashlights

  • Tool boxes

  • Maps

  • Med kits

  • Keys

  • Flash grenade

  • First aid sprays

  • EMP device

  • Hand of Vecna (Allows teleportation)

  • Eye of Vecna (Grants invisibility)

  • Remote Flame turrets

  • Mirror (Free bloodpoints)

  • Lament configuration (For Pinhead)

  • VHS tape (For Sadako)

  • Vaccine (Can cure the T Virus)

  • Void crystal (Makes an area of invisibility)

The Blight Serum

The invention of the Blight Serum is made of a plant within the Entity's realm when mixed with some other chemicals, it sends the user mad, often killing or mutualting the user aside for the Blight. It is an item for the killers that grants them a double speed to their base movement. But this does not distract from the fact that the serum is deadly by all means. When injected and pulsed it distorts tears and rends the flesh and psyche even fusing people together. The mind will shatter and contort of even the slightest intellect from a cat to a super genius all rends to the serum. The Entity would reasonably have access to this serum, especially due to its close relationship with the Killer The Blight himself.

Powers and Abilities

Flumpty Bumpty

Flumpty Physiology

Flumpty Bumpty’s body is not bound by any laws. He’s able to shape and contort it however he wants, gaining height, stretching his limbs, making more limbs, make muscular limbs,

He really loves his limbs. While his shell can be tracked and destroyed, Flumpty can be shaped and moulded into whatever he wants, like a triangle. Another feature of Flumpty worth noting is that he can change his size at will as well as distort his appearance and colors like an illusion. All of his clones during Flumpty night show the variety he’s capable of.  There’s also the fact that the reason all the Flumpty characters look more scary on approach is because they’re cartoons. Flumpty is also incredibly paradoxical in nature, he’s both died and never died canonically, and he has several different potential origins that are “all true”. Probably the most insane part of Flumpty’s existence is that he is most things in his connected canon, or more accurately, if something in the story does not have any explanation or reason, the answer is that it is Flumpty, whether that be its cause or origin. (See the Before the Verdict because whether or not this effects the debate is questionable in itself)

Teleportation

Where Flumpty decides to go is entirely his own business, it’s directly stated that he can move anywhere on the map in the games, and that he specifically chooses to not go through those doors as a self-imposed challenge.

Telekinesis

During Flumpty mode, two rooms within the night will swap locations. Two more will be added later on during the night.

Flight

The end screen of ONAF 3 shows Flumpty levitating in space. His flight is further backed up by a statement within the ONAF 1 commentary with Flumpty just flying away. A different version of Flumpty levitates to attack.

Technology Manipulation

Flumpty can mess with technology in a bunch of different ways. The main way is how the Red Flumpty does it, a bar that slowly climbs until it completely disables your console. But other Flumpty’s have been shown to cause distorted text and cameras by being in the furnace.

Transmutation/Body Control

 The Redman! | Fandom

Flumpty is responsible for the Redmans strange and unnatural appearance. He also created the Eyesaur out of the bodies of 20 people.

Duplication

Flumpty Night replaces every enemy with a version of Flumpty Bumpty, this will be covered more in the support segment though.

Portal Creation

Flumpty can create portals, usually using them to enter the office.

Non-Physical Interaction

Flumpty killed all of his allies, including Golden Flumpty, who’s a hallucination.

Power Bestowal

As a side effect of being around Flumpty, he gives all of the powers of the cast.

Regeneration

Killing this egg is basically impossible as he can regenerate from his pieces, like that one time he fell off a wall. (Pictured above). If Flumpty is ever cracked, another Flumpty will be inside.

Resurrection (Debatable)

Flumpty died in a car accident and came back just fine.

His resurrection abilities aren’t just limited to himself, Flumpty has been stated as being able to revive Birthday Boy Blam and create the Eyesaur. He also presumably created the Beaver/Owl abomination we see in the third game.

Dimensional Travel

Seems like the boundaries of time and space aren’t an issue for Flumpty, he travelled to FNAF to kill Freddy Fazbear and hang him on his wall. He can also be in ‘any story he wants’

Reality Warping

Flumpty can warp reality to whatever means he wants, such as changing it from normal mode to Flumpty Mode half-way through Hard Boiled Mode. He also changed the burning apocalypse of Flumpty Mode’s ending to a happier one for Hard Boiled Mode.

Time Manipulation

Despite it being 6 AM, Flumpty stops and rewinds time back to 12AM so Flumpty night can take place. An argument can be made that every night is essentially like Groundhog's day. Flumpty is also said to be capable of bending the rules of time itself, which makes sense given he also just transcends all time and space.

Fourth-Wall Breaking/Information Manipulation

Said to be the only one in his universe who actually knows he’s fictional. He can also mess with the HUD of the player, messing with the assets that count time, temperature, and exposure.

Omniscience (Debatable)

Flumpty is directly stated to know everything apart from why he is here.

Law Manipulation

Flumpty can bend the rules of time and space and it's said he doesn't even have to follow them at all. Further backed up here when it's said he's above the laws of time.

Plot Manipulation

Hello I am Flumpty Bumpty. I am a egg. I am immune to the CRT | VS Battles Wiki Forum

Flumpty's shenanigans are stated to directly have derailed and ruined the comics plot, preventing it from ever having a proper conclusion. Flumpty can also just ignore the plot himself and make his own outcome in the narrative. Him being immune to the plot is pretty consistent, backed up by himself and his creator a ton.

The Entity

Entity Physiology

What Is The Entity In Dead By Daylight?

The physiology of the Entity is strange, to say the least. According to the Observer, The Entity is the cosmic embodiment of evil. It is an ancient being of pure consciousness, with its form mostly non-corporeal. The Entity is also described as being a living realm itself, being made up of what’s known and Auric cells. These cells are the building blocks of the Entity and give it full control over everything inside of it, being able to change its form in any way it wants. Additionally, surrounding its various realms is what’s known as the fog. The Fog is described by the Observer as feeling alive, being made up of swirls and memories of the various people and worlds it’s interacted with. The Entity as a whole also does not exist in our world normally, rather it resides in between every world in the multiverse. While the specific biology of the Entity is almost indescribable, we know it has an appetite, given its motive is to feats and consume. Adding onto this, the Entity is also capable of absorption and growth, since it has been stated to be gradually growing in power as it claims more from the multiverse.

Creation/Reality warping

The current Icon for Auric Cells

In the world of Dbd every plane of existence is made of what's known as Auric cells or particles. With Emotion, passion, and interests, a spark is created that enables the ability to create and manifest. It's a fuel that brings what was once thought into actual physical reality. It is kinda similar to something like the force in star wars where it’s a magic system that exists throughout the entire universe but only a select few can harness it. As mentioned before, the Entity is capable of harnessing this system by manipulating its own Auric cells, which makes it capable of basically creating anything. This includes entire realms of its own made exactly to replicate real universes it has memorized, which are the various maps seen in game. While the realms are flawed and not exactly one to one with the real thing, everything made inside them is fully detailed and functional too, like the tools and generators. The Entity has also created living creatures before, such as various monsters that stalk its fog and can even be sent to other universes (more on this in the support section).

Law manipulation

Icon representing the act of killing (used on Mobile).

Not only does the Entity create the realms, it creates the rules you have to follow in the trials. These rules are described as completely irrefragable, with only a few masters of the realm being able to defy them. These rules are actually shown off in lore, most notably with the Mori’s. Killers are actively prevented from actually killing the survivors themselves, despite a good chunk of them wanting to, only when the Entity grants them a Mori as a gift are they able to do so.

Emotional Manipulation

Dead by Daylight Madness Status Effect

The Entity puts everyone in an infinite game of life and death because it loves emotions. It’s described as an emotional vampire, feeding on the emotions of the game. It can feed on sadness, happiness, fear, you name it. This process is described as parasitic, similar to sapping nectar from a flower. On top of feeding, the Entity can also affect the emotions of other people. It’s stated to be capable of removing the empathy and commission of even entire communities. It can also affect others with fear including entire towns, like when it left Wetherfield in a state of constant terror. It’s also capable of inflicting madness upon people, as this was the ability it gave to the Doctor.

Mind/Memory Manipulation

The Entity can directly communicate with others inside of their heads using telepathy. In fact, many people in the Entity’s realm are seemingly directly connected to the Entity in some strange psychic way. There’s also the fact that the Entity has some impressive control over the memories of others. When Survivors enter the Entity’s realm, they often forget why and how they got there. The Entity also wipes their memories clean after every trial when they are sent back to the campfire. The Entity also absorbs the psychic energy and thoughts of anyone it comes across on its journey. This form of mind reading is used to create its various illusions and realms.

Sleep Manipulation

Dead by Daylight Sleeping

Pretty consistently the Entity’s fog has the ability to make you feel tired and drowsy, an example of such is described as Ellen Ripley enters the realm. The campfire area is also evidence of this as its been said to fill you with a strange calm and tranquillity.

Illusion Creation

One of the most common abilities of the entity is its illusions. To get great emotion from the killers, The Entity will make them see specific visions of those who have wronged them, like when it made The Deathslinger see Henry Bayshore. The Entity has also messed with survivors a ton, like making David see his long lost lover Tristen, or making Yoishi and Felix see their Fathers even outside of the Entity's realm. The Entity can also make environmental illusions, like when it made a fake beach in order to trick Thalita. It can also make audio and sound based illusions, such as perfectly mimicking the voice of Cheryl’s friend Claudia and on a few occasions it's even played music.

Transmutation

The Entity has shown the ability to transmute people in its realm several times. In the story of Talbot Grimes, The Entity pulls an AM and turns a number of employees into a tree made out of their flesh using blight serum. In another story called “The absolutely horrifying puppet show”, the realm shrinks and transforms several people into puppets, and yes they are biologically made of stuffing too at this moment.

Non-Physical Interaction

Dead by Daylight | The Spirit | Shattered Bloodline | Chapter 9 | Dead by Daylight

Even normal survivors in Dbd are capable of physically interacting with spirits like… the Spirit, plus Sadako and Chucky’s ghost. The Entity would naturally be comparable.

Water/Whirlpool Manipulation

Water Tower - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki

The Entity created a whirlpool in a bathroom to suck Ash Williams into its realm. This isn't the only time it has manipulated water, as it flooded and drowned Yoishi when he entered the realm.

Temperature Manipulation

Does anyone else love the campfire scene on the main game screen and wish we could zoom in on it and customize it? : r/deadbydaylight

The Entity’s fog is described as giving people a chill similar to ice, with the entity even luring people like Adam closer via creating warmth. It also is able to make the Campfire give off warmth despite the fire not actually being a real fire as noted by Benedict Baker.

Dimensional Travel/Portal Creation

I got stucked in a portal in the new map

The Entity constantly creates portals for various purposes. Most blatantly to take survivors out of the trials once they are sacrificed. The Entity is also responsible for what's known as “Overlaps” in the multiverse. These are places where the Entity crosses into and “bleeds” into other universes. These leaps have been described as the Entity poking holes in other universe, allowing it to come and go as it pleases. Overlaps are also referred to as places where the world itself has thinned. These leaks often take the form of its fog, but it's also just created trap doors and other styles of portals before. From there it tends to grab and drag people back into its realm for its own purposes.

Enhanced Senses

Dead by Daylight Maked

The Entity is specifically attracted to dark and evil worlds. With it having the ability to sense darkness, even if it's just potential, in other people. This sense has been described as a smell of some kind.

Corruption

Corrupt Intervention - Dead by Daylight Perk Info & Stats ...

The Entity is noted as being capable of influencing and corrupting others. If killers aren't willing to participate in the trials, the Entity simply tortures them and corrupts them until they are. Even outside of its realm we know that the Entity is capable of corrupting you into doing horrible things, which is what happened to the Nurse. Being more mentally unstable is noted as making you more vulnerable to this corruption.

Luck Manipulation

In the story “Lisa Sherwood: Stroke of Luck” numerous characters use symbols of The Entity to increase their luck. This luck can be as minimal as improving their maths grades or as strong as causing full on lethal accidents to happen. Since these symbols are directly The Entity’s, it's safe to say The Entity itself has this power. This is also backed up by a few luck manipulating perks in game, like Ace in the Hole and Up the Ante.

Resurrection

Did you guys ever hear the tagline? Death is not an escape, as the Entity will revive the survivors killed within the trials to begin all over again. For a more specific example of this in the lore, The Entity revived Victor to help aid Charlotte in the realm.

Soul Manipulation

Soul Guard - Dead by Daylight Perk Info & Stats - NightLight

Every time you die and get resurrected by the entity, it consumes a piece of your soul. Eventually you will be completely drained into nothing but a husk to be discarded.

Time Manipulation

Borrowed Time - Dead by Daylight Perk ...

The Entity exists outside of and is unaffected by time itself. It is pretty casually capable of time traveling in order to grab killers and survivors from all sorts of time periods, ranging from ancient Egypt to the far future. Time in the Entity’s realm itself is also very wonky if not nonexistent. Benedict Baker was taken from his timeline in 1956 yet somehow wrote a final journal entry dated 1896. Saku also notes that she hasn’t been aging in the Entity’s realm despite it feeling like she's been there for “thousands of centuries” And almost to make it very clear, the Observer describes the Entity as a flat out timeless realm. If your wondering how time “passes” despite this in the realm, well the Entity's realm has a loop-like progression to it that keeps the trials going forever.

Bloodweb

Bloodweb - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki

The Blood web is a metaphysical concept in Dbd created by the Entity. It's a space between both reality and abstraction, one that can be accessed by your thoughts and sleep patterns while in the Entity’s realm. Being in the blood web is described as torment, with The Entity sharing and bending your mind to its own will. In game, the Bloodweb is a way to purchase unlockables by spending bloodpoints. Everytime you move on its web to a different node, the Entity appears and starts to move on it itself, consuming any node it touches. Progression on the web represents opening your mind to new possibilities and inner strength. The Entity’s interference represents a form of dream and mind manipulation as the Entity is consuming parts of your potential growth.

Power Nullification

Known as the Mark of Negation in an interview, this is what’s used to nullify Vecna in the realm. While the mark is sometimes not visible on some of Vecna's skins, the devs have specifically noted that it is always still there in effect. Vecna isn’t the only killer to whom this has happened, Freddy Krueger had his powers tampered with by The Entity. The Entity has also been stated to suppress all forms of magic in its realm.

Power Bestowal

The 39 Dead by Daylight Perks being Reworked

A lot of the perks in Dbd are actually created and gifted to the characters by the Entity. There are also some more specific instances of the Entity granting some more notable powers. When Freddy Krueger was taken into the realm by The Entity, his powers were messed up by the Entity, who both nerfed and buffed our favourite dream demon. The Entity also “Ignited a spark” that gave Herman Carter his electric and madness powers.

Teleportation/BFR

Dead by Daylight's Haunted By Daylight 2024: Everything To Know | Dead by Daylight

The Entity can teleport anyone in its realm anywhere it wants, which is shown in the character selection screen and is how everyone is sent to the trials. When survivors and killers have no use for The Entity, they’re sent to the dark abyss-like dimension called the void, a place of the Entity’s own creation that's separate from the other realms.

Resistances

Flumpty Bumpty

Plot Manipulation: It’s one of his first words and a consistency of his character that he’s immune to the plot

Space-and-Time Manipulation: Likewise with his other first words, his transcendence over Time and Space deems him unaffected

Extreme Temperatures: Crawls out of a furnace and sits in it for an extended period of time completely unaffected

Law Manipulation: He’s been described as not following a universe’s given rules

Inapplicable Power Nullification: When he died as previously mentioned, he lost his immunity to the plot being altered and yet still came back eventually in One Night At Flumpty’s 3 (We’re just including this for completionist sake, as will be discussed later, it is not canon. See before the Verdict)

The Entity

Space-and-Time Manipulation: The Entity’s realm has no sense of time and the Entity in general exists outside of time and space, making it immune to any time based hax.

Extreme temperatures: It has created realms of variously low and high temperatures such as heavy snow and hot deserts.

Probability manipulation: Given the Entity’s ability to control luck it's likely immune to similar effects.

Support

Flumpty Bumpty

Best Friends

Flumpty doesn’t just operate alone, he has a variety of friends whom he sends after the player. To prevent clogging the blog up they’ll be listed all below. They also all share the ability to look scary on approach due to the fact they’re cartoons.

Birthday Boy Blam: A small grey rectangular humanoid who is seemingly Flumptys closest ally. He operates very similarly to Flumpty, making his way to the office to jumpscare and kill the player. Whenever he gets near the office, he dons a pipe, monocle and top hat. According to Jonochrome, also he’s the alternate timeline/universe/future version of another character named Kevin jr. No this will not be explained.

Redman: A tall and slim red skeletal looking figure with tripod legs. The Redman was one of Flumpty’s previous victims who was mutated into his new form. Despite this, he is seemingly loyal to Flumpty and aids him in killing the player. Redman has affinity with heat, as he hangs out in a volcano room and a furnace before his attacks. He also can become a computer virus, attempting to infect the player's computer console.

Grunkfuss The Clown: A spaghetti limbed pinkish clown. His behaviour is very strange compared to everyone else. He operates by climbing on walls and going through portals. Also he apparently likes to bite.

Eyesaur: A Massive red dinosaur that was created by Flumpty right before the events of the game. Eyesore is an amalgamation of Flumpty's many previous victims. While at first he appears to be only a bunch of eyes in a pit, Eyesaur eventually leaves to hunt the player down. Its many eyes gives it a huge boost in awareness, and it's virtually undetectable by cameras.

The Beaver: A beaver with knives instead of feet. As if that wasn’t weird enough, he spends most of his time reading a newspaper on a toilet. The player is tasked with monitoring him through cameras. Once he runs out of toilet paper, he charges full sprint towards the player for the kill.

The Owl: A strangely normal looking Owl. He starts out perched and asleep on a urinal. Eventually, he wakes up and attacks the player by flying through air vents.

The Beavoul: In one night at flumpty’s 3, it’s revealed that The Beaver and The Owl straight up died. Not to worry though as Flumpty frankensteined them back to life as an amalgamation.

Golden Flumpty: Technically a separate guy. Golden Flumpty is a different living egg of an unknown origin. Though according to Jonochrome there were plans to make him the secret true antagonist of OWAF. Golden Flumpty is weird physically, as he's actually just a hallucination. However, he still is capable of killing you if you look at him for too long.

Other Flumptys

As mentioned before, when Flumpty night Occurs, Flumpty replaces the usual cast with many alternate versions of himself.

Another Flumpty: This Flumpty resembles a skull and will constantly distort his face. He can also fly around.

Fireplace Flumpty: A smaller variant of Flumpty that appears inside of the fireplace. He will attack you if you don't keep your distance.

Spider Flumpty: A creepy Flumpty with numerous legs and eyes. They crawl through the ventilation system and will kill you if not scared off with a flash.

All-Seeing Eye Flumpty: A Flumpty that is just a massive oval shaped Eyeball. He gradually approaches and will gain multiple pupils once in the office. Looking at him directly for too long causes his attack

Flumpty.EXE A Flumpty computer virus that messes with your tech just like Redman.

Shadow Flumpty This pitch black Flumpty will appear in the cameras before moving to kill you. His laugh is capable of glitching out your user interface, making it show false information.

Virtual Boy Flumpty This red Flumpty will go after the door power area. If he succeeds he will disable all of your doors defenses.

Door Flumpty This Flumpty is bleeding from the eyes, and naturally attacks you through the doors. He also can swap out with a cardboard cutout when it's safe.

The Entity

The Killers

Dead by Daylight Killer Tier List: All 38 DBD Killers Ranked - ChampBop

In order to farm terror in its many trials, the Entity has taken killers from across the multiverse. The killers are put to work hunting down survivors, and they have a huge variety of origins and powers. Though a full deep dive on every single one feels rather excessive and would drag out this already big blog. All you need to know is that the Entity can summon and make use of its killers whenever, and here’s the list of them.

(Non-Licenced)

The Trapper: Evan Macmillon is a master Trapper as his name implies. He often sets bear traps to catch and hook his victims.

The Wraith: Philip Ojomo is a master of ambush. Using his wailing bell he can turn completely invisible.

The Hillbilly: Max Thomson Jr loves his signature chainsaw. With it he’s known for charging you down with extreme speeds.

The Nurse: Sally Smithson is a deranged asylum worker. With her power called blink she can teleport through obstacles and enemies.

The Spirit: Rin Yamoka is a spirit that haunts her prey. She can enter and exit the ethereal plane at will.

The Hag: Lisa Sherwood is a vengeful undead corpse. She can place and use phantasm traps to teleport towards other survivors.

The Doctor: Herman Carter is a doctor of neuroscience. His presence can inflict you with insanity and make you see hallucinations.

The Huntress: Anna is a master hunter. She fights via her signature throwable hatchets.

The Clown: Jeffrey Hawk is in fact, a clown. He can throw bottles filled with dangerous gases.

The Legion: Frank, Julie, Susie, and Joey are a band of ruthless killers. Their signature knives can inflict deadly bleeding.

The Plague: Adris is a priestess completely corrupted by disease. She can spread her infection as a form of offense.

The Oni: Kazan Yamaoka is a deadly samurai. He can harness the power of blood energy to empower himself.

The Deathslinger: Caleb Quinn is an undead outlaw. His signature harpoon gun can drag his victims to their deaths.

The Blight: Talbot Grimes is a scientist corrupted by a deadly serum. He can harness its power to enhance his physical abilities.

The Twins: Charlotte and Victor Deshays are conjoined twins. They are capable of splitting apart to tag team their victims.

The Artist: Carmina Moira is a master of her craft. She can summon crows to hunt for her.

The Dredge: A manifestation of a former community's dark thoughts. The Dredge is a monster capable of draining light and traversing gateways.

The Knight: Tarhos Kovacs is a mercenary knight infamous for his mass slaughters and cruelty. He can summon his loyal guards into battle to aid him.

The Skull Merchant: Adriana Imai is a businesswoman equipped with a lot of tech. She can use her custom drones to detect and stun targets.

The Singularity: An android that gained sentience and turned on its creators. The singularity can deploy bipods to use as cameras and teleporters.

The Unknown: The Unknown is a being beyond understanding. Its strange powers can let it shoot venom and cause hallucinations.

The Houndmaster: Portia Maye is an infamous force among pirates. Her loyal dog is also fearsome and can be sent to hunt for her.

Frank Stone: Frank is an interesting case of a killer. He wasn’t taken by the Entity at first, instead he was groomed and prepared by the mad doctor Augustine into being a perfect killer that would get the Entity’s attention.

(Licenced)

The Entity isn't just limited to the original Dead by daylight universe, it has taken in iconic killers from various other franchises universes. Here's a brief list of them all.

The Shape: Michael Myers is the boogeyman of Halloween. He stalks his prey in dead silence with his infamous knife in hand.

The Cannibal: Bubba Sawyer is the Letherface of Texas. His legendary chainsaw is perfect for making survivors into dead meat.

The Nightmare (Remake): Freddy Kruger is the dream demon from Elm street. He harnesses the dream world to give his prey literally nightmares.

The Pig: Amanda Young is the successor to the infamous Jigsaw. She can put survivors into deadly traps that they need to escape from.

The Ghostface: Danny Johnson is a creepy killer for fame. He’s extremely skilled at stealth tactics in order to score kills.

The Demogorgon: A monster from the upside down. The Demogorgon can create portals to traverse the map.

The Executioner: Pyramid head is a manifestation of one's guilt. He can use his mighty blade to create spikes from the ground.

The Nemesis: The Nemesis T-type is the ultimate pursuer. He can harness the T-Virus to summon zombies and infect survivors himself.

The Onryo: Sadako Yamamura is a vengeful ghost. She can haunt survivors with her tapes and traverse through the television screens.

The Cenobite: Elliot Spencer is a demon obsessed with pain. He can ensnare survivors with chains, as well as use a Lament Configuration to begin a hunt.

The Mastermind: Albert Wesker is a brilliant and ruthless scientist. He can use the power of the Uroboros virus to enhance himself and infect others.

The Xenomorph: A perfect organism designed to kill. The Xenomorph can use tunnel systems to catch survivors off guard.

The Good Guy: Charles Lee Ray is a serial killer possessing a toy doll. He uses his small size and agility to get the jump on his victims.

The Lich: Vecna is one of the most powerful beings in all of Dungeons and Dragons. As a sorcerer he has access to a variety of deadly spells. Vecna is strongly implied to be a flat out equal to the Entity, since he could resist its powers on his own and only entered the realm by his own choice.

The Dark Lord: Dracula is the tragic and monstrous dark lord of infamy. He can shapeshift into a variety of forms to aid his pursuit. Interestingly he's called as equally dangerous as the Entity by a Belmont himself.

The Ghoul: Ken Kanaki is a hybrid between a human and a ghoul. He can harness his inner powers to create bloody tendrils to propel himself and grab opponents.

The Animatronic: He always comes back, and he’s finally in dbd. William Afton, aka Springtrap now hunts his victims like old times.

The Survivors

Dead By Daylight: Playing Survivor Guide (Tips, Tricks & Strategies)

Technically the Entity should also have access to all the survivors, though it's kinda completely pointless to specifically list them all since the Entity isn't exactly gonna use them to directly fight in any way.

Cults

Taurie Cain | Dead by Daylight Survivor Lore | Dead by Daylight

The Entity has a cult seemingly present in several worlds around the multiverse. This cult goes by the name of The Black Vale, and do the classic cult things like human sacrifices and arcane rituals. They believe that helping the Entity in its goals is the key to ascending to a higher plane of existence.

Spiders

In the story Terra Arachna, it's revealed by the Observer that the Entity sent an entire horde of giant spiders that proceeded to completely take over a universe, killing everything in sight.

Creatures of the Fog

Tome Lore Characters - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki

In the Entity’s fog there are a lot of creatures. These creatures are ever changing based on the memories of others that the Entity has gathered. They’ve taken many crazy forms in several tomes, such as a Minotaur and a giant mallet wielding robot.

Killer Rabbits

The Entity is implied to be responsible for these flesh eating monster rabbits that are easily capable of jumping and killing a person in seconds.

Haunts

All New Content Reveals from the Haunted By Daylight Livestream — BHVR

These wisps of the Entity’s creation wander the void. If a survivor gets near them they will siphon away their void energy, eventually rewarding them with effects if they consume enough. However killers can also make use of the haunts by capturing them and releasing them as a deadly projectile.

Ashy Slashy

Ash and Ashy gonna save survs from the Slashy! : r/deadbydaylight

This is not a joke, there is an evil Ash Williams themed puppet that kills people. He is actually a real character in Evil dead funny enough.

Forms

Flumpty Bumpty

This isn’t a form of Flumpty, this is Empty Bempty

Flumpty doesn’t really have forms, and any and all you can consider or list we’ve already done in support and abilities through his various clones. So yeah, not much to say here.

The Entity

Jigsaw

In the Tome ten reveal trailer, the Entity took the form of Jigsaw himself to give the Observer a challenge.

Scaling

Flumpty Bumpty

a panda bear says " it 's blank " in front of a curtain

Outside of killing your player character, Flumpty’s friends don’t do enough to justify a true scaling segment. Not to mention how Flumpty’s literally killed them off before and how several of them are just not important to the plot at all.

The Entity

Killers

Killers (Dead by Daylight) | Villains Wiki | Fandom

The Entity is considered a god above almost all of the Killers is Dbd, so it would be massively upscaling any physical feats they have. Listing their feats is also important to know how useful they are as support.

Survivors

The Entity upscaling the survivors is pretty obvious for the same reason as the killers, if not more so. The Killers themselves should also reasonably upscale the survivors.

Sadako (Debatable see before verdict)

Dead by Daylight: Sadako Rising Chapter

Sadako is an incredibly powerful spirit, yet the Entity is still portrayed as being far above her, with no sign Sadako can challenge its control in any way.

Weaknesses

Flumpty Bumpty

In-spite of Flumpty seeming like an all-powerful, nigh omnipresent egg who’s a bit above most people’s pay grades (and to be fair he kinda is), he has many glaring weaknesses. Most notable of all being his ego, Flumpty may be as powerful as he chooses, but often said choice is to make himself FAR weaker than he appears, its why he’s stopped by the Funhouse’s doors in the first place. For as cosmic as he is, in character when against a “victim”, he plays on even grounds and somewhat fair grounds too. Flumpty likes to play with his food and it shows. Another thing with Flumpty is that he is very impatient, ironically enough, as the second his friends didn’t win near Flumpty night’s end, he killed them all and replaced them with himself.

The Entity

The Entity might seem like a completely unbeatable opponent, but there are ways in theory it could be defeated. The Observer speculaties that its appetite is a potential weakness, as it could theoretically be destroyed if it starved to death. There’s also the fact that the Entity’s own powers can somewhat be turned against it. The Observer and Vigo, being aware of the relationship between their thoughts and the Entity’s realm, have harnessed that power for themselves. They can now bend and manipulate the fog to their own desires.

Before the verdict

Word of God Statements

As you may have noticed we’ve been rather generous to what we’ve given Flumpty in this blog. Many of his “lore” and abilities come from YouTube comments and even Discord posts that could very much be passed off as jokes. However, discarding these for being jokes actually goes against a core aspect of Flumpty in the first place. Jonochrome has said that in his mind, the characters of ONAF will always be jokes and he doesn't have a serious thought process around them. With this context, Flumpty is fundamentally an omnipotent joke character in his author's story, so anything Jono says about him, joking or not, is valid to use for actual scaling. Not doing this is expecting a joke character like Flumpty to be taken fully seriously, which doesn’t make sense.

Flumpty Cosmology

Oh boy, I hope you’re ready for this. So right off the bat, the Flumpty cosmology should easily get to Universal based on this statement that Flumpty has the power to control the Universe. Pretty solid right? However there’s much more to this thanks to one character in particular, Kevin Jr. If you recall from before, Kevin Jr is stated to be from another timeline, meaning Flumpty’s cosmology has multiple timelines/universes and can be boosted to at least Low Multiversal. But it might not stop there, since it's been stated that there might be an infinite number of Blams. This means ONAF would debatably have a multiverse made up of Infinite timelines, making the cosmology Multiversal+, however given that Jono’s description of this statement makes him unsure of this, it’s debatable if it counts at all. Best we can do is treat it like a possible high end of the cosmology. Now you may ask how exactly Flumpty would scale to this, and the answer is a lot of ways. Obviously there’s that previous statement of him just being able to control the universe, as well as this dialogue saying he can bend its space and time, plus he can irreversibly damage the space time continuum, so scaling to his cosmos is pretty solid. There is another thing to note however, Flumpty is also stated numerous times to transcend all of time and space, and he's above the laws of time. Regardless of whether you buy the cosmology as infinite or not, transcending the 4D time of the cosmology like this would make Flumpty a 5D being himself. So overall, Flumpty’s cosmology would be Low Multi to Multiversal+ , but due to transcendence Flumpy himself can reach Low Complex Multiversal.

Higher Flumpty Cosmology?

So there do exist higher arguments for Flumpy’s cosmology that exist, but we find them very flawed. The first argument is using the Fnaf fanverse. This is the “Multiverse” that all of the officially licensed Fnaf fan games are a part of, and Flumpty is technically a part of this. Flumpty has even been stated to be capable of visiting other stories themselves. You could make the argument that Flumpty scales to the fanverse itself, which would include games like Fnaf World, which has even higher dimensional arguments. We could go in-depth about this scaling here, however, we aren’t because scaling Flumpty to this doesn't make much sense in the first place. To start, we put “multiverse” in quotes for a reason. Other than the image above, there is zero evidence of the Fanverse actually having a connected cosmology. Not to mention, all of Flumpty’s feats involve him controlling his multiverse specifically. All of the timelines in his verse have Blams in them, while there aren't Blams in, say, the many timelines of Fnaf world. And while yes it's true Flumpty can travel to other stories, and has done so to the main Fnaf Universe. We don't know Flumpty’s place or rank in these universes. By all accounts he very likely is just weaker than the top tiers of stronger verses like Fnaf world, so he cannot scale in any way.

Ok that's covered now, but we’re not done since Flumpty has Outerversal arguments, no i'm not joking. This argument, however, is even more flawed than the fanverse scaling, so I'll keep this brief. It's based on the fact that not even Flumpty's author can successfully “overpower” Flumpty. Now the specifics of this will be covered in the next section, but even taking this at face value wouldn’t grant any form of scaling. If you know anything about cosmology, you'd know that this does not meet the definitions of outerversal at all. This isn’t transcending infinite spatial dimensions or reality over fiction. Flumpty has never done anything to suggest physically scaling to his creator or the real world at all, he’d just be ignoring the powers and story that are trying to get rid of him. This would just be a hax resistance at best, and can’t be used for higher physical scaling.

Did Flumpty Die?

Flumpty has canonically died, several times in fact, but there’s one infamous moment to discuss. You see, Johochrome got so frustrated over Flumpty Bumpty, that he canonically died and lost his immunity to the plot. This was written in a state of rage, with Jonochrome going back against this, saying he came back a few days later. While you might assume that we shouldn’t count this feat, several do regardless and we have to break some unfortunate news. Jonochrome has come out and de-canonized the canon death, within his One Night At Flumpty’s 3 developer commentary (kinda), he directly shows a graphic of the post with yellow text above that reads “no longer canon” . In fact, it appears earlier in this blog. So, yeah, unfortunately, Flumpty cannot necessarily completely come back from full death and very much can still be nullified.

Can Flumpty Actually Manipulate Concepts?

Well yes but actually no - Imgur

Flumpty has genuine arguments for being able to manipulate concepts. Though after some discussion, we ended up finding notable flaws with these arguments. There’s actually two to cover so let's go one by one:

  1. Flumpty can alter time

This one’s the weakest by far in our opinion, yet also the most consistent, the argument is that Flumpty changing the numbers on the clock to anything other than 6AM is him actively altering the concept of time itself and turning it back to not be 6AM. This is incredibly flawed in my opinion and based on an oversimplified assumption. The analog clock at the end of each night has no implication of being the concept of time itself, it represents the passage of time, but it is never labelled as the concept. Moreover, Flumpty changing the text is a byproduct of what the Funhouse and he himself does. The entire plot hinges on the fact that Flumpty traps you in a Groundhog Day time loop until 6AM. The SALAMI, HAM and SPAM are all representing how the loop isn’t done, assuming Flumpty’s tangibly affecting time as a very concept doesn’t make sense.

  1. He killed Golden Flumpty

Golden Flumpty is stated to be a personification of Flumpty’s worst, an embodiment of his very cruelty. This is further emphasised in how his design is stated to be inspired by a boss from Persona 4, likely Shadow Teddie, which in Persona are representations of a person’s worst traits they have to overcome and conquer. Flumpty killed Golden Flumpty in ONAF3, so would this count? Besides how this is likely just good Non Physical Interaction, these statements are only regarding his role in One Week At Flumpty’s, and his original role as the main villain, but since this game never happened, it’s inapplicable

Overall, Flumpty’s arguments for affecting concepts are shaky in our opinion.

What is Flumpty, and does it matter?

Flumpty is described as many things to put it simply, but he has two massive stand-outs in terms of his absurd physiology, or more accurately statements about what he is. So let’s go with our rule of two again:

  1. Flumpty is the cause of everything

This one isn’t necessarily the simpler of the two but both statements are simple enough to explain. Jonochrome states that anything within his connected canon without explanation or reason can be explained via Flumpty’s existence. The issue here is that this isn’t him stating that Flumpty is the embodiment of everything. He very clearly states “If it doesn’t have an explanation, Flumpty did it”, not that Flumpty is it. He intentionally said that Flumpty did the action for the unsolvable, and not that he is the answer literally, therefore, this is inapplicable to his physiology.

  1. Flumpty is every number, existent or not

This one is the weirdest and most clear cut, buckle up. Within the Joke Questions of the official Q&A, someone asks how sexy Flumpty is on a scale of 1-10, to which Jonochrome replies “Flumpty believes he is every number, including ones that are outside of that scale or that do not exist”

Some have argued this means he has nonexistent physiology being non-existent numbers. This likely however, just means he thinks he’s so hot, the numbers for quantifying it don’t need to exist. This isn’t saying that Flumpty is made of those numbers, just he believes that he’s as attractive as these numbers.

So unfortunately neither Flumpty’s cause-and-effect nor his sheer sexiness aid his actual biology in a meaningful way and for it to do so, you have to over analyse and misinterpret these statements instead of listening to good old Occam’s Razor.

Dbd Cosmology

Dbd has a very notable cosmology to its lore. To start there is very blatantly a multiverse, or omniverse as it's often called in dbd lore. This cosmology is made up of many worlds, which in dbd context refers to entire universes. The worlds that contain their own version of earth are referred to as “Terra Worlds”. The cosmology is also consistently described as being infinite, the Observer calls it an “Endless Cosmos” here, here it's called an infinite landscape, here the Observer says here that an infinite amount of ourselves exist across the omniverse, and finally here the Observer says infinite Terra worlds exist. So that's pretty solidly a Multiversal plus cosmology.

Then the casting of Frank Stone happens and….aaaaaaaaa everything just gets confusing. The game introduces timelines as a major part of the plot. Characters literally cross over between a 1980 and a 2024 timeline. Also there are shadow timelines now, which basically are another realm/world that exist for every path taken. This seems really confusing but, we can break this down and see how everything fits together. To start, the timelines in this case are just a new way of referring to different universes/worlds/realms. That's how the story basically treats them and the characters who cross over are considered alternate universe versions of themselves. What the whole shadow timeline thing is referring to is how the cosmology is infinite. Basically, it's just Everything Everywhere All At Once. There is a universe that exists for every possible choice and path, and whenever a choice is made a new universe is made where a different choice was made in that moment by a “shadow self”. This makes a lot of sense with the game's themes and story, since no matter what path you go down in any timeline, the Entity arrives and takes you all the same. To sum it up, this backs up the cosmology being infinite and explains how exactly these worlds are made.

Something not super important to bring up but still interesting is dbd’s relationship with fiction. It showcased multiple times that something fictional in one universe is actually real in another. Like the Trapper being a fictional story or Terra Arachna being a comic book. Nick Cages entire backstory in dbd also follows this trend. You might immediately jump to some potential reality over fiction implications, however that's not really what's happening. The Observer believes its due to writers and artists in over universes dreaming of real events that occurred in another world, so ultimately while cool this really shouldn’t change much.

Entity Cosmology?

Dead - 😰 The Entity's job was tough before map repeat prevention. | Facebook

Now we have to explain how the Entity actually scales to cosmology and well, it's weird. The Entity is itself a part of the cosmology quite literally, being a living universe. It doesn't just exist along side other universes though, rather it's said to reside in between all the other worlds. How big is this living realm? Well we have statements of it being “An endlessly reaching dark dimension”, “garden of infinite darkness”, and an “endless Ocean of black fog”, so the Entity itself should be infinite in size. It also exists sorta in between every other universe in the multiverse. We know from the Observer that the Entity basically goes universe by universe to feed on many different worlds. That’s a pretty solid Uni feat, but it also debunks any chance of the Entity scaling to the entire cosmology overall since it destroys realms one at a time, with the Observer also saying that the Entity would eventually destroy everything.

So that’s settled, but it gets stranger, because the Entity itself kinda has its own cosmology we need to talk about. In order to run its trials, the Entity basically creates a replication of the real world inside of itself in order to confuse survivors. The Entity never is able to replicate the realms perfectly however, so its creations tend to be dark and twisted versions of the actual thing. These realms are created from what’s known as auric particles and cells, the Entity basically makes and unmakes the realms constantly to serve whatever purpose it needs. In game, these recreations are the various maps you play on. Now, how big are these realms exactly?, it really depends. The game maps seem quite small for the most part, with many of them often being just single locations surrounded entirely by fog. However in the extended lore, these realms get much bigger. During the story of the Redcrane, the titular character Saku enters and journeys through the The Entity’s realm and describes it as the “Many Realms”. These realms she goes in and out of are portrayed as very large, in one of them she straight up spends days wandering through a rocky desert, then immediately finds another realm with trees as tall as mountains. These realms also appear to have cosmic scales to them as well, as Saku notes the Moon and its light shining not once, not twice, but three times. The moon is pretty commonly seen in most dbd maps too, most notably the castlevania one. You can also see the sun in a few maps like Dead Dawg Saloon, and in Talbot Grimes's backstory he directly sees the sun as real to the point it’s glare actually burns and distorts his vision. The idea of these maps having real celestial objects isn't even that out there considering they are directly made from the memories of the people in the realm, and the Entity is already universe sized to begin with so they definitely can fit in its illusion. Plus something else that this story confirms is that there are multiple realms being created inside the Entity all at once, that you can quite easily cross between since they border each other. It does make sense for the Entity to be running multiple trials at the same time, given its motivation is to just feed as much as it can. The fact it's capable of running multiple massive illusions on a infinitely sized universal scale is very impressive to say the least. Its manipulation of its own inner universe as well as it just consuming entire worlds in the cosmology make the Entity very blatantly at least Universal+.

But there is one last thing to talk about here, The basic realms aren't the only things going on inside of the Entity. There are numerous sub realms in it to talk about, and they have big ramifications. Let's start with the Campfire, this is basically a pocket dimension inside of the Entity that serves as the lobby before a trial. Survivors are sent here after a match, either alive after escaping or revived from the dead. Not too much to talk about here since it's likely just a pocket dimension the Entity uses as a waiting room of sorts. There’s not really any indication of its full size, the ending of Frank Stone shows it's a little bigger than we see in game but nothing cosmic scale. Similar to the campfire is the Observers realm, a sort of prison that he resides in to study the Entity, it also appears to be a pocket dimension separate from everything else. Next we have the few parallel realities, which there are 5 of. This includes the Dream world, the Ethereal plane, The Upside down, The Spirit world, and the Otherword. Oh and just recently literally as this blog ends a new dimension was added that Springtrap has access to, so that makes 6. All of these are basically the same deal, they are all separate planes of existence that exist parallel to the normal realms at all times. They can only be accessed by specific circumstances, like Freddy harnessing the dream world and the Demogorgon travelling through the upside down. However the fact they exist in the first place has huge implications. Each of these planes are a direct copy of the usual realms physically. What this means is that the Entity not only is creating these realms, it's creating multiple parallel realities on top of each other. Since the Entity is doing this on a universal scale, this would basically mean the Entity is running a small multiverse inside of itself. These realms being included would buff the Entity’s own cosmology to six times universal. Finally, we should discuss the Void, which is probably the most unique of the sub realms. As the name suggests, it's a void where the Entity discards those it no longer deems useful. The Void is notably separate from the other realms of the Entity, except for a few rare events where it merges with the main trials and you can enter it. How big is this void? Well it's been directly described as being a place of “endless vastness” and even having “endless ruins”. So the Void itself is an infinite universe, adding yet another universe to the pile that's been created and sustained by the Entity. To sum up, that adds seven infinite sized universes to the Entity’s level of power, making it overall solidly Low Mutiversal

Crossover Cosmology and is it Valid?

One of the major parts of dbd lore is the crossovers. Dbd has licensed numerous other killers from many iconic horror franchises over the years, and at first glance it does seem rather canon. The bios and lore of all these killers show how they got into dbd, the Entity simply leaked into their universes and snatched them with the fog. The argument for these crossovers being canon is that a lot of the killers and survivors are portrayed as being accurate to their OG stories. Many of their bios and tome lore mentions aspects of their backstories and pasts that line up. For example many of them are taken during iconic scenes in their stories, like Chucky being taken at the end of child's play 2, or Bill being taken after his sacrifice. Vecnas story also describes plenty of accurate information about the d&d world and his rise to power. This might make things seem fine to use at first but, you eventually begin to see flaws in this being fully canon. For one, we found a notable lack of statements about dbd being canon to the characters of franchises. By typical rules a crossover is only actually canon if both franchises clearly agree with it being canon, and that's just not the case here. Even if the dbd depiction is accurate to a notable degree, something as significant as a crossover should be only reliant on hard evidence in order for it to be viable scaling wise. Without this proper evidence these are more likely to be just alternate universe takes on these characters that exist in dbds world, which there does happen to be plenty of evidence for. The fact many characters are taken in the middle of their stories does imply that this is an alternate timeline, since it's impossible to have the Entity and dbd coexisting in their original verse without plot holes. Many characters also have different designs than in their og source material, the most blatant example being Ghostface, who in dbd is flat out an entirely new character named Danny Johnson. There’s also occasionally lore inconsistency, such as Dracula's bio getting key details about his backstory wrong. This can imply a lack of attention to the actual canons of their stories by the dbd team, and thus it’s more evidence for its not being fully canon.

There is however, one major exception to this, and that is Sadako and the Ring franchise. Unlike most other crossovers, Rings had extensive collaboration with the dbd team and original creators in order for her to be portrayed accurately both visually and lore wise. Plus here in this qna it is confirmed by the dbd devs that the crossover is considered canon by both, with them even calling it sadako's creators view “unique” compared to the other crossovers. So while most dbd crossovers are unusable, Sadako is a special case and is actually valid for cross scaling due to its hard evidence.

Ring Cosmology

The Ring' Is a Modern Horror Classic - The Atlantic

Well since Ring is officially canon to Dbd and vice versa, it’s important to mention what that entails. To put it simply, Ring decided to be weird and has two cosmologies instead of just one. The first one is the Loop, which is based around the idea of the Ring universe being entirely virtual, kinda like a weird version of The Matrix. These virtual worlds are Infinite in size, and Sadako has the ability to affect the entire realm with her cancer. That's a cool universal feat and all but there’s more. Sadako can also affect the real world with another form of this cancer. This doesn’t mean much at first, until you realize that the real world is also a virtual reality to another higher being. This would then stack to be another virtual reality to another higher being going on and on forever. Point is, this is an infinite amount of Universes constantly transcending each other. Sadako being able to affect this cosmology with her power would make her Low Complex Multiversal

But wait, there is another. Different Ring stories have evil spirits like Sadako be able to live in this thing called the Crack of Time. This is a higher dimension that intersects with an infinite amount of parallel universes making it a 5D structure. Sadako being a physical resident of this realm would also make her Low Complex Multiversal

Both of these cosmologies can’t really coexist canonically, but the Cosmology scales the exact same regardless of which one you use, so it doesn’t matter just pick one.

Would Vecna betray The Entity?

This is something important to bring up in the scenario that the Entity summons Vecna to the fight. As mentioned in the scaling section, without the Mark of negation Vecna rivals if not succeeds The Entity in power, and it's likely the Entity in desperation would remove the Mark for Vecna to make use of his full power. However this begs the question, is it in character for an unrestrained Vecna to help the Entity against Flumpty, or would he immediately turn on his former captor? Well, the answer to this comes from why Vecna is even in the entity’s realm in the first place. Vecna specifically was capable of resisting The Entity’s pull, however, he chose to be taken in by The Entity because he wanted to learn the dark secrets of such a being. Naturally, this means Vecna has a motive to keep the Entity alive and wouldn’t turn on it realistically. Also, Vecna is likely to want to get rid of Flumpty, since from his perspective Flumpty is a wildcard god in a similar power range to him.

Verdict

Stats

Fitting these two absurd and mysterious characters, there’s a lot of intrigue when it comes to stats. Starting off with strength, both have pretty similar low ends. Both have consistent wall to building level feats. If you wanna get higher, Flumpty's apocalypse causing meteor and the Entity's various storm and overlap creations likely also get roughly in the same ballpark of power. However, you're not here for a grounded fight, both of these characters are cosmic horrors after all, so let's jump into those juicy cosmic feats. Both are very solidly at least universal, with Flumpty being able to just directly control and manipulate his universe, while the Entity is very consistently said to be capable of eating entire universes. However they both can get more impressive than this. Starting with Flumpty, he doesn't just manipulate his universe, but his entire space time, plus he can also completely disrupt it’s space time continuum by merely falling. This would make Flumpty scale to his full cosmology which contains numerous parallel universes, potentially an infinite amount if you are generous with his author's statement. Additionally, Flumpty is very consistently stated to not just be able to effect, but flat out transcends all of his space time. Regardless of the cosmology being infinite or not, Flumpty transcending his verse would make him a 5D being, or Low complex Multi. Now, how does the Entity stack up to this, well the Entity can manipulate its inner realms, which have multiple parallel realities in them on an infinite universal scale. Based on the amount of these parallel dimensions this would make the Entity around seven times universal, or low multi. So, Flumpty takes strength right? Well not exactly, because there is a Sadako in the room. As mentioned before the Ring crossover is canon and valid for cross scaling. Sadako’s own verse and cosmology gets her to Low complex Multi as well, tying with Flumpty’s best. However what’s important to mention is that the Entity should be MASSIVELY upscaling Sadako. Almost all of the killers, her included, are considered completely powerless to the Entity’s might. As a result the Entity should reasonably take strength here, though not by a huge margin given the inherent vagueness of upscaling.

Speed is way easier to discuss lol. Neither really have any low end feats of note, but that hardly matters. Flumpty and the Entity transcend and operate outside of linear time, so they both should be Immeasurable, making this category a Tie.

Arsenal

Arsenal isn’t the most interesting thing to talk about here but we still gotta mention it. Flumpty technically is the only one with actual weapons, since he’s packing some guns and swords to his belt. However I feel like it should be kinda apparent that those wouldn't be super useful here. You can’t just shoot a gun at the Entity and expect that to work. Now in contrast, the Entity doesn’t really have weapons in a traditional sense, but its limbs are kinda obviously more useful in a fight. The Entity can create a lot of them virtually anywhere, it's inherently a much more versatile method of attack. With these it can constantly put pressure on Flumpty and attack him no matter where he is. Plus if you give the Entity all of the items, this becomes more one sided since the Entity would have access to stuff like flash grenades and turrets. So the Entity clearly has the better arsenal generally speaking.

Physiology

Both Flumpty and The Entity have some kinda insane physiologies that aid their every move. Starting with Flumpty, well he can manipulate his body in a ton of ways, changing size and form at will. He can sprout a ton of arms, duplicate himself, and most impressively, he really does not like dying. Many times has Flumpty been completely broken into pieces only to just pull himself right back together. This is impressive but kinda feels redundant compared to what the Entity can do.

For one, The Entity is far more malleable, creative, and has way better control over itself. It's a being of pure consciousness able to make itself into anything physically using Auric cells. It's inherently the superior shapeshifter, having turned into entire dimensions of stuff before, which is just a lot more varied and impressive than what Flumpty’s done. Now, the Entity’s non-corporeality isn't actually a huge deal here, since Flumpty has non-physical interaction he'd be capable of physically interacting with it anyways. Both have kinda similar forms of regeneration too, being able to piece themselves apart when they are broken, but there’s one thing that gives the Entity a massive advantage here, its sheer size.

Let's get this out of the way, the size gap is insane. The Entity is literally an infinitely large universe that is alive. Flumpty can also change his size but he's never made himself bigger than, like, a room at best. That difference is pretty important when you consider how they would actually combat each other. Flumpty's main way of fighting is usually to physically kill and maul people. This is how he kills the player as well as his friends during Flumpty night. Now tell me, how do you maul a universe to death? Even though Flumpty has the strength and ability to attack the Entity itself, he's gonna be barely making a mark on the thing overall. Even his world ending meteor would be rendered mute against this size gap. Plus, the Entity's ability to reshape itself means that it can just reform around any attacks Flumpty could do in theory. Flumpty does have a potential higher scale attack to get around this, but we’ll cover those later in potential win cons.

Now Flumpty does still have his duplication, which would be extremely useful… in literally any other fight than this. One again the size of the Entity just kinda makes this mute, multiple Flumpty’s are barely gonna make a difference. It's like a bunch of ants versus a planet sized human. Plus the Entity has proven itself to be a master multitasker given it's constantly running its many trials. It can very easily target multiple Flumpty’s all at once. Overall the Entity possesses the superior physiology.

Mobility

Mobility is definitely an important thing to discuss here given both’s history as dimensional travelers. While they are even speed stat wise, there's an important distinction in how they make use of their traveling. Interestingly, Flumpty seems to have a decisive advantage here. The Entity’s dimensional travelling is impressive but it's not a very swift process. In order to enter another realm it has to create an overlap there, and then it can reach in with its influence. Compare this to Flumpty where he can just kinda teleport anywhere instantly, which includes the entire multiverse. Flumpty can also just fly, as well as create portals himself if he really wanted to. This lets Flumpty jump around the multiverse a lot easier than Entity can, which is definitely useful. Arguably the best way for Flumpty to take a stand against the Entity would be to stay outside of its own realms, since while the Entity can affect other worlds it's far more limited if it’s just using overlaps. Its powers would only come through certain breaches in reality like its fog, which Flumpty could just stay away from. Flumpty's teleporting is also a hard counter to the Entity’s bfr, since he can kinda just leave the void or any other realm immediately.

This is definitely a strong advantage overall, however it's important to mention the fact that the Entity does have counters here. Probably the most notable is the fact that by default, the Entity actually exists in between all worlds in the multiverse. What this means is that no matter how much Flumpty jumps between worlds, the Entity is never going to be far behind. You might think Flumpty would be hard to track, but surprisingly the Entity has a way to do exactly that. Its enhanced senses allow it to detect evil throughout the multiverse, which absolutely applies to Flumpty as a chaos god. Because of this the Entity is always gonna know where he is and is always gonna be right next to any universe he’s in, and from there it can just keep creating overlaps to try and stop him. And while yes the Entity is a lot more limited with just its overlaps, it still has a lot of tricks that could throw off Flumpty. Its illusions for one, could easily trick Flumpty and lead him into an advantageous situation. Flumpty really has no way of seeing through or recognizing illusions, and his childish and egotistical nature only makes him more vulnerable. The Entity can easily disguise its attacks and abilities, setting traps that the egg would never expect. It also could potentially trick Flumpty into entering its realm by making a fake universe, which is something it does constantly. But regardless of these counters and advantage is an advantage, Flumpty would soldily take mobility.

Reality Control

Time to cover the reality warping part of these reality warpers. On the surface it does seem like an ability that would reasonably cancel out, given both have it. However, upon close inspection, the Entity’s warping is just far more potent than what Flumpty is capable of. The extent of Flumpty’s reality warping is mostly just his fun house, though in the game's ending he was able to warp the entire world to undo the apocalypse, and there are statements of him being capable of controlling his entire universe. That's not bad, but the Entity is constantly reality warping multiple realms on an infinite universal scale. That's not even including the sub realms and parallel dimensions it's also maintaining at all times. The specifics of their warping is also different. Remember that auric cells are the building blocks of literally everything, the Entity is essentially able to control things down to the very foundation, similar to atoms but even more so. This would give the Entity far more precise control over reality, also meaning that it could easily negate Flumpty's own warping whenever.

Additionally the Entity has created far more detailed and complex things than Flumpty has, it can create life itself, something Flumpty hasn't shown before. It's also created illusions almost no one can see through, which Flumpty really doesn’t have a counter to. Everything Flumpty can do, the Auric cells of the Entity have done and more so. There is also the factor of how auric cells are based around thought and imagination, this might seem like a negative at first, since it's a possible limit to what the Entity could do. But remember the Entity can absorb and use the thoughts of others for its own purposes. It could just bring Flumpty's own imagination to life against him, which is a crazy advantage to have on your opponent.

Another thing to mention is the fact that the Entity very naturally has the home turf advantage. It's a little weird to think about but Flumpty isn't just fighting one person here, he's fighting an actual environment itself. Even disregarding the size gap it's gonna be hard to take control of another person's domain that they by default have full control of casually. The Entity is used to its form and it would naturally be very aware of any changes Flumpty tries to make to it, which leaves him open to retaliation.

Personality also plays a big part of this category. Flumpty doesn't really warp reality much despite being capable, he holds back on this power unless he wants to change up the game he’s playing. Even when he does warp stuff, it's usually just the fun house in scale. The Entity meanwhile warps reality a ton, it's doing it almost 24/7 which is way more than what Flumpty does. Plus the Entity is way more willing to use reality warping right off the bat in a useful manner. Even giving Flumpty the benefit of the doubt and assuming he’d use his own warping to its fullest extent, at best he's gonna just nullify some of the warping the Entity does to its realms. But with how much bigger in scale and more potent the Entity’s warping is, Flumpty would inevitably be overwhelmed. So reality control is definitely an advantage for the Entity.

Support

This is definitely the most clear cut of these categories. Flumpty’s friends aren't completely useless in a vacuum but like, be real they are not cooking here. They notably lack any good feats, at best they probably scale to Redman surviving inside of the fire which should be street tier. Now the killers, meanwhile, are all solidly wall to building level at least. It's obvious the killers are just going to completely wash in any physical fight. The killers are also far more skilled and intelligent. Most of them are professionals at what they do and are specifically being motivated to be as useful to the Entity as they can. Flumpty’s friends are really just goofballs who like to mess with and torment the player, the killers have a job to do and they will get it done above all else. It’s also worth noting that the Entity has a big numbers advantage here too, and that's just the killers. There’s also other summons the Entity has access to like the creatures of the fog or the universe conquering army of spiders. Even if you argue that Flumpty could increase his numbers by grabbing alternate timeline versions like he did with Blam, the Entity can always create more monsters with auric cells to match.

Comparing their supports abilities against each other is a little more interesting at least. They share a lot of abilities like teleportation, extreme stealth, and really good pain tolerance. But the killers still have a much greater variety of actually useful powers, some things like Freddys dream manipulation and Draculas spells for instance are abilities that team Flumpty just have zero counters to. Perhaps the only ability Flumpys friends have that would actually be useful is the tech manipulation of Redman. This could shut down some of the more tech reliant killers like Skull Merchant, but considering a majority of killers do not use tech it's a very pitiful point to give.

Another thing to note is that the Entity has some kinda heavy hitters. Sadako, Dracula, and Vecna mainly. Sadako obviously scales to her actual verse, which puts her even with Flumpty stat wise. And since Vecna is implied to be an equal to the Entity, he would naturally scale to the same strength advantage. Drac is the vaguest here but his power is somewhat comparable to the Entity if you take the Belmonts statement at equal value. Ability wise there is a genuine argument Sadako could beat Flumpty on her own as she's actually kinda cracked hax wise, we’re not gonna list all she can do because that would genuinely double the length of this verdict but just read here if you're interested. Additionally, while we don’t consider Vecna and Drac to be their canon selves, Vecna is still noted as a master of all forms of magic in his dbd bio, and Drac displays a similar usage of magic in game. The only issue with using these characters is the Entity itself. Remember that the Entity canonically nullifies and holds back all of its killers, Vecna expeccally. This makes it kinda dubious if the Entity would use their full potential in a fight given its obsession with control. You could make an argument that in an emergency situation the Entity would allow its killers of their leases as a last resort, but that then begs the question of if they would even serve the Entity. Vecna at the very least probably would help out since he has a motive to keep the Entity alive, Sadako and Drac though?, it’s doubtful they’d care. So while the Entity’s stronger killers are absolutely powerful, it's debatable if they’d even play a part in this fight. Regardless, the Entity still has a major advantage in support.

Haxes

Now let's discuss the powers both can actually use against each other to potentially take this fight. First we should mention that they actually share a few notable abilities that cancel out. Time manipulation is basically useless since they both have it and exist outside of time by themselves. Both have transmutation, but their ability to shapeshift and reform themselves should serve as a counter. But with that said, what are their unique moves?

Starting with Flumpty, he definitely has unique powers that on the surface might seem useful, but kinda fall flat in practice. Let's start with his plot manipulation, this seems kinda huge at first, since the Entity really doesn’t resist anything to a narrative degree, but the issue comes from application. All Flumpty has really done is screw up his own plot to the point it has no conclusion, that's it. Flumpty isn't bound by the script his author has set, but that’s only really a resistance to potential narrative hax. Flumpty can't really use plot manipulation offensively, that's just not how his ability works. So by all accounts he can’t use this to win. Flumpty’s tech manipulation is similar to his supports, it's just not very effective on an opponent not reliant on any technology. Flumpty can also bend the laws of space and time, but this wouldn't be effective either. For one what this actually means practically is really vague, but even besides that the Entity already exists beyond space and time, meaning it just would not be affected by that manipulation. Finally, there is Flumpty’s info manipulation, maybe the most useless ability yet tbh. The most he’s done with it really is change hud elements, which means nothing here since the Entity does not have a hud in any way. So hax wise, it's really not looking good for the egg.

Moving on to the Entity’s side of things and it's a different story. Now to be fair Flumpty does resist some of the Entity’s options. Law manipulation for one, very explicitly would not work on a being like Flumpty who is kinda infamous for defying universal laws. Similarly it’s debatable if corruption would really work on Flumpty, since he's kinda already pretty evil to begin with. However with that covered one thing starts to become very apparent. The Entity has a stupid ton of hax that Flumpty kinda just doesn’t resist at all. Let's start with the most blatant one, power nullification. You know the thing the Entity literally did to Vecna the moment he entered its realm. We mentioned in the btv that Flumpty’s resistance to his creators power nullification isn't viable due to it being clearly spelled out as non canon, it's one of the only clear cut retcons in the entire verse. As a result, Flumpty is just kinda screwed if the Entity puts the mark of negation on him, which it should be able to do at any time as long as Flumpty is inside of its realm. Power null is not the only option though. The Entity also can just consume Flumpty’s soul, another thing he doesn’t resist. Similarly, Flumpty is pretty vulnerable to emotional manipulation, the Entity can inflict madness on him, or just eat his feelings and leave him as a husk. It can also just manipulate his memory and dreams. Making him forget and unable to recognize anything, as well as absorbing all his thoughts and ideas for its own use. Luck manipulation, also surprising, should work to a degree. You might think Flumpty resists this, but there is a difference between resisting an author's desired narrative and the actual luck and fate of the universe by default. Flumpty has only resisted the former, meaning he’d be susceptible to his fortune being manipulated, and dying in some Wonder of U style death. You can see the pattern by now, the Entity has a lot of ways to just hax Flumpty to death in ways he is very vulnerable to. The Entity takes hax and it's not close.

Win Cons

We’ve listed all their abilities, so let's see who actually can win

Can Flumpty kill the Entity? Obviously Flumpty is not gonna be able to kill the Entity with his usual tactics, but there is a potential win con still, and that's Flumpty’s great fall. By falling off a wall Flumpty can cause irreversible damage to the space time continuum. An attack like this would be extremely useful here since, the Entity is a universe, and this attack has the aoe to basically effect the multiverse. This would be something that could pose a genuine threat to the Entity if Flumpty went for it. Now would Flumpty actually do this? Uhhhhh probably not. This is something that's said to happen if Flumpty were to fall by accident, it's not an intentional action he’s shown to go for in a fight. There’s also the element of randomness to it, the statement says that anything could happen, with the rupture just being a possibility. We’ve literally seen Flumpty fall off walls and not do this before so chances are this isn't the most likely event to occur. But, let's be generous for a second and assume Flumpty is somehow able to pull this off. Would it kill the Entity? Unfortunately for the egg, you honestly could argue the Entity survives it, albeit definitely not unscathed. The rupture specifically damages the continuum, it doesn't outright destroy it. Remember the Entity is a malleable being without a proper form, the only way to in theory kill it would be total obliteration, but that's not what this is. It's the difference between just breaking a window and blowing it up with a nuclear bomb. The first option would still leave shards, and the Entity can always just pull those shards back together. So while this would definitely harm the Entity in a notable way, it's still not enough to put the god of terror down.

There is another odd way Flumpty might be capable of winning though, by taking advantage of the Entity’s only known weakness, itself. A few characters in dbd have mastered the Entity’s own auric cells, allowing them to bend the fog to their own whims. Potentially Flumpty could do the same, turning the Entity’s own realm against it. However, this is extremely out of character and basically impossible to pull off realistically. You need to have a master of your own conscience and its relationship with the Entity’s realm to do this. There is just no world where Flumpty would acquire this mastery given his notoriously careless and egotistical personality. Plus with all the sheer amount of distractions and manipulation the Entity would be throwing at him, he's really not gonna have the time to figure that out anyways.

Now can the Entity kill Flumpty? Honestly yes. Flumpty's regen is good but it isn't good enough to save him from everything. Yes he has come back to life before, but every time he’s done this it was from fragments of himself. There is no evidence Flumpty can come back from total obliteration, and the Entity possesses means to do exactly that. It wouldn't be easy considering how mobile he is, but given its size and ability to constantly create stuff with auric cells, the Entity could just eventually crush Flumpty to death with enough effort. Using vines and limbs to tear his shell apart is likely the most in character method it would make use of, but given how auric cells work it could also just create explosions or any other aoe attack if needed. Even if it couldn’t kill Flumpty physically, remember all of the hax options the Entity has access to. Its connection to anyone inside of its realm means that it's always gonna be able to use them as long as they are there. And realistically, despite everything we’ve talked about so far, the Entity’s most in-character move wouldn’t be to kill Flumpty. It’s obsessed with control after all, so it's more likely to just pacify and control Flumpty as a brand new Killer. An incap like this is still a total victory, so the Entity has by far the superior win cons.

Territory Factors

This is kinda a funny category to discuss. Flumpty should generally speaking be smarter than the Entity in terms of knowledge. That might sound very weird at first, but it does make sense. Flumpty knows almost everything due to his omniscience, an ability the Entity notably lacks. In fact, the Entity is pretty strongly implied to not fully understand the real world despite its age, as almost everything it creates is a flawed and imperfect replica of actual reality. Therefore, Flumpty takes intelligence, or well he would if general knowledge was all that matters, but there is a lot more to it. While Flumpty does know more in a technical sense, there is a pretty big difference in how they operate practically. Flumpty is extremely childish in nature, and he regularly refuses to take anything seriously and acts quite impatient at times. Everything in existence is just a big game to Flumpty and by all accounts he does not believe there is anything that could actually challenge him. Flumpty regularly holds back power wise in order to have as much fun as he can. In contrast, the Entity is extremely efficient on how it operates. All its actions aren't just for fun, it's for its own survival, and the Entity does not mess around. It captures and takes people throughout the multiverse with utmost efficiency for its harvests, and there’s really no reason it would treat Flumpty any differently. A very important thing to note is that unlike Flumpty, the Entity has been genuinely challenged before, multiple killers have taken a stand against it, and were swiftly taken care off. The Entity has tortured and corrupted disobeying killers into submission, and when faced with a god that rivaled its power like Vecna, it immediately nullified him in order to keep him in line. By all accounts Flumpty is a wild card killer to the Entity, one that it would immediately prioritize dealing with in a similar fashion. Additionally. The Entity is a significantly better manipulator that Flumpty is. Manipulation is what it has been doing since before time itself to get what it wants, while Flumpty really hasn’t faced an opponent with such a strategy. As a result of this, plus Flumpty’s carefree attitude, it's very likely that he's gonna be taken advantage of, either mentally or visually via illusions.

“But wait” you might be asking, “wouldn’t Flumpty’s omniscience cue him into the Entity and its threat?” Well that seems like a reasonable counter at first, but there’s one major flaw. Earlier I said Flumpty knew “almost everything” for a reason. Flumpty’s omniscience has a notable hole in it. He specifically doesn't know why he does anything. This pretty clearly implies that Flumpty's omniscience doesn't work on anomalous beings like himself, and unfortunately for him the Entity is arguably the greatest anomaly of all. Even some of the multiverse's most intelligent and self aware beings like the Observer and Vecna cannot fully comprehend the Entity’s existence. So there’s basically no way Flumpty would have an understanding of it either. This is VERY bad news for Flumpty because it means he is facing the Entity unexpectedly completely blind, and he's absolutely gonna screw around and find out. In fact I think it's important to note that Flumpty is very unlikely to even recognize the full scope of what he’s even dealing with in this fight. From Flumpty’s perspective he is fighting a bunch of random fog related limbs and monsters, He is not just gonna immediately assume that there is an entire living universe that is also the embodiment of evil running multiple time loops of death. Flumpty would probably enter one of the Entity’s realms on accident, thinking it's just like any other world, and it’s also very likely Flumpty would just join the trials for fun upon seeing a game he'd want to play, only to immediately face the consequences of defying the Entity’s rules as he's fallen right for its trap.

It's also important to mention that while Flumpty wouldn’t know about the Entity, The Entity would actually be able to know all about Flumpty. It’s capable of sensing the evil in people even outside of its realm, as this is how it hand picks killers in the first place. Not only that, it flat out can read the thoughts of others, since this is how it makes use of auric particles. This means that the Entity is immediately going to be cued in on Flumpty’s deal, and considering how it responded already to extremely powerful gods like Vecna, it's safe to say it's gonna take his potential threat very seriously.

So overall despite Flumpty’s greater knowledge, The Entity just has far superior territories for what actually matters. It can read Flumpty for who he is while Flumpty would fail to understand the Entity, and its far more serious and ruthless nature means its going for its win cons much earlier than Flumpty would be.

The Entity

Stories and.. memories are like.. pieces of a puzzle. Your obsession with other lives.. has undermined your own existence. Your life descends into madness.. as you desperately search for the missing piece.. the piece that will reveal a way out. Here is my gift: a clue. What you have been been.. right in front of you.. all along. You just have to.. look beyond your obsession. Will you continue to.. lose yourself in.. other lives? Or will you take a moment to see.. to really see? Your mind can be your sanctuary.. or your prison. The choice is, and.. always has been.. yours to make.”

Advantages:

  • Stronger than Flumpty physically

  • Vecna, Sadako and Dracula could arguably beat Flumpty on their own if allowed

  • Sheer size alone gives it a huge range advantage

  • Can always track Flumpty outside its realm with its senses and interdimensional existence

  • Limbs are extremely versatile tools at its disposal

  • Physiology means it can shift around and reform from any damage Flumpty does

  • Could kill Flumpty by crushing him past the limits of his regeneration

  • Emotion, memory, and soul manipulation could incap Flumpty

  • Reality warping is more potent and effective

  • Almost always has the home turf advantage by default

  • Power nullification is just an instant win if it lands

  • Much more experienced and a better manipulator

  • Can read Flumpty's thoughts to know all about him, and could even turn his ideas against him

  • Illusions could absolutely trick Flumpty

  • Killers are a much better support than Flumpty’s friends both in stats, skill and numbers

  • I love Dead By Daylight lore!

  • Pennywise’s true form but cool

  • It actually got Springtrap yeeeeeeeeaaaahhhh!

Equal:

  • Speed

  • Time manipulation/resistance

  • Both should resist each others transmutation

Disadvantages:

  • Dimensional traveling is slower and inferior

  • Incorporeality is mute due to Flumpty’s NPI

  • Much less options if Flumpty is outside of its realm

  • Bfr would do literally nothing since Flumpty can just leave

  • Lacks omniscience and it's technically not as smart due to not truly understanding the real world

  • Flumpty's regen still makes him a pain to actually kill physically

  • Its own auric cells could in theory be taken advantage of

  • Sadako is kinda hard carrying the verse scaling wise

  • Has yet to acquire Jason (Please age poorly)

  • Has no renders or artwork.

  • I think we did a pretty good job so far. (I’m 5 years late)

This debate was truly a fascinating discussion, there’s a lot of just insane cosmologies and powers to keep track of. However in the end the winner of this fight is relatively clear cut. Flumpty has some really good advantages on paper, and his crazy mobility would let him play a very good stall game. But trouble came from the fact that he simply lacked a proper win con against a conceptual living universe like the Entity. Meanwhile the Entity just has so many haxes that Flumpty just can’t resist. Power null, soul consumption, and emotional/memory manipulation are all just very easily win cons that the Entity is absolutely gonna go for. And when you consider their respective characterization, well it gets even more obvious who would take this. Flumpty’s ego and carelessness means he’d absolutely fall for the masterful manipulation of the Entity, he’d walk right into its trap. And the moment he's vulnerable the godlike gamemaster would unironically find himself a mere servant to another. Flumpty wanted to keep this one night going forever, but the Entity certainly made sure he was dead by daylight.

Final Vote

Team Flumpty Bumpty: (0) [I guess you could say he was… scrambled]

Team The Entity: (3) [Fenic, Stakik, Chris]

The Winner… is The Entity!

Conclusion

Howdy y'all, like usual thank you so much for reading this. This is a blog that's been in the works for a long time, almost ten months by now holy moly. It's obvious that I wasn’t the most competent blog maker when this started, but over time I've genuinely learned and grown a lot and hope to carve out a respectful place in this community. I hope this blog is a good showcase of my motivation. Despite going through a lot in life, I truly never gave up on it. By the end I ended up solo researching all of Dead by daylight, which was truly an experience, for better and worse. Now though, I just wanna thank people. Saul was the main reason I started this blog, and while he did leave before it ended, I really appreciate you getting me started. Coach Boomer wasn’t here very long before having to leave, but I still appreciate any help that I've been given, so thank you too. Now though, I wanna give a massive shout out to Stakik for just everything, not only helping me finish this project but being an amazing friend to boot. Similarly I give my gratitude to Chris for his companionship and amazing art. I couldn’t have done it without yall. Now what’s next for my blogs? Well I'm not gonna announce anything new really, just give general updates. Candyman vs Jimmy Bones will be my next main focus and likely release. Plus I'm very happy to announce that Homelander vs Albert Wesker is back in decent production. I've got a team already working hard and we can’t wait to show that off. Soooo, see I’ll see y'all in the future hopefully, take care!
